COVID-19 INFORMATION

COVID-19 PATIENT INFORMATION

To see if you are eligible to book your COVID-19 vaccine, please visit: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/

Vaccination is underway for certain populations. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have any vaccine available in our office.  Public Health will communicate when vaccines are available, where the vaccines will be distributed, and how to register for vaccination. For up to date information, please check Ottawa Public Health's site at https://www.ottawapublichealth.ca/en/index.aspx

To protect the health of our patients, our staff, physicians and our community, we are implementing screening recommendations as circulated by the Ministry of Health and Ottawa Public Health to minimize the risk for those patients visiting the clinic.

COVID-19 APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES:

Caremedics is booking most appointments by either telephone or video conference. If your physician deems an in office appointment necessary, the following procedures MUST BE FOLLOWED:

  • patients will be screened by telephone when booking an appointment for any signs/symptoms of Covid-19
  • patients will be screened on the day/time of the appointment
  • patients are to arrive 5 minutes before (no sooner) for their scheduled appointment
  • patients will be asked to sanitize their hands upon arrival into the clinic
  • patients must wear a maks or face covering in the office at all times; should you not have a mask or face covering, you will not be permitted into the clinic.
  • patients will be asked to stay 2 m (6ft) away from other people
  • If more than 3 patients are in the clinic, you will be asked to wait in your car until staff is able to bring you into the office.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

If you have a cough and/or fever AND you or someone close to you has  interacted with someone with COVID-19 please alert the clinic staff when you call to book an appointment. This will help avoid any unscheduled visits to the clinic.

We are also asking those who have a cough and/or fever , if they have traveled or have come into contact with someone with COVID-19 NOT TO COME TO THE CLINIC, BUT, DO call Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744 or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 to receive further direction for testing.

These protocols are in place for your safety and the safety of others and will allow us to best care for you and other clinic patients.

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO PROTECT OUR PATIENTS, OUR COMMUNITY, AND OUR STAFF?

 Three levels of screening of have been implemented: Telephone, in-clinic signage and in-person screening.

 We are in frequent touch with Ottawa Public Health directly.

 Customized approaches are being taken for patients who meet the screening criteria, such approaches including phone calls, recommendations for self-isolation and taking steps to ensure they do not visit the clinic during our ordinary hours. This list is non-exhaustive; as mentioned, this is a quickly evolving situation.
